In order to keep our Free Sites free, we've come up with three separate programs to maximize the revenue generated by our Free Sites while maintaining a family-friendly and non-intrusive experience for our customers:

- Commission-based: Using our partner Affiliate programs
- High-volume Custom Spends: Custom Hosted Ads served without a broker or middleman
Pay-Per-Click Ads With Google AdWords
Google AdWords is by far the largest and most trusted name in Pay-Per-Click Advertising. TribalPages has been hosting AdWords Ads with great results over the past few years, and if your firm has been using AdWords on common Genealogy phrases like "Family Tree" or "Genealogy Hosting", there's a good chance your ad has been seen on one of our free sites. AdWords has fantastic performance tracking tools such as Google Analytics and their budgeting tools are great at ensuring that your ads are having a great ROI.
However, Google now provides a simple means to be much more direct about your ad placement. Simply follow the directions on the TribalPages AdWords Online Signup Page and you can be placing your Text or Image Ads on TribalPages in minutes. You don't have to signup with TribalPages as an advertiser: Google handles all of the ad hosting, payments and reporting. Like all of our programs, we reserve the right to block ads from sources for any reason such as those that are objectionable, or that are counter to TribalPages business.
Commission-based Affiliate Programs
One of the most effective ways to grow your business is with an effective Affiliate Program, and we've partnered with several Affiliate Programs in the market to make it easy for merchants to sell merchandise that is attractive to our demographics. Unlike simple Pay-Per-Click, however, Affiliate advertising requires that both sides play some role in the effort. Merchants design ads specific to the site, they offer discounts, provide data feeds for individual items in their inventory, etc. Publishers like TribalPages place those ads in the most appropriate place on their site, write supporting text, and provide feedback and information to help the Merchant.
Because TribalPages only gets paid when the merchant does, both parties are incented to make the partnership work.

Share-A-Sale is a simple-to-use Affiliate Manager with reasonable rates, low startup costs and minimums, and excellent customer service. High-Volume Custom Spends
Sometimes there are situations where the above approaches don't work, for example, there may be format limitations with a CPC provider, or perhaps the advertiser wants a different model (such as pay-per-impression or CPM). Sometimes, it is as simple as the overhead of having a middleman being too high a burden.
