About Wixon/Wampanoag Genealogy
Please sign in to see more.
Although the title of this page is entitled Wixon family, the truth of the matter is that it stretches very far beyond. Each individual within my lineage has had a part in shaping one another. The intention of this website is for all of us to acknowledge and honor those of whom and from whence we are derived. This especially holds true to those of our blood whom have passed on. Whom we are today is without question a tribute to them. I must add that i sincerely hope that this page helps to assist those of whom may have had trouble with their own, more personal tree as well. You know, missing links ... gaps, stumbling blocks etc.

I would like to acknowledge above all else the family members that history, oral or other wise may have let slip from our memory due to the passage of time or many other potential reasons. I have been doing genealogy
for about 32 years. I have been to countless town halls, libraries, historical societies, personal residences etc. When i first began i would spend hours upon hours picking dozens of our elders brains. Unfortunately, with each passing day, month, and year ... we lose members of our family (thus ourselves) and along with them vital information not only for our own knowledge but for each generation which follows.

I can not guarantee that everything that i have included is 100% accurate. What i can guarantee is that nothing gets included without the best sources nor with any intention of romanticizing and/or depreciating anyones legacy. Within due time i hope to add more and more biographical information for each of our breathren as time and opportunity permits. Please check back from time to time as i am always updating, usually every 2-3 days or so. At the moment i would say that what you see here is only about 25% of what it will be..... many more surnames, connections, more complete dates and quite a bit more photos.

Lastly, please feel free to comment with any thoughts, corrections, suggestions and especially additions. Afterall, if your are reading this..... then more than likely we have the same blood flowing thru our veins!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
