About Amy & Harry's Family
Amy Kammerer Wetherell Germar was my Grandmother. Her first husband, *Harry Wetherell, died about a month before my Mother, Ruth, was born; leaving her and 3 older siblings, Willard, Arlene, and Don for Grandma to raise alone. She had 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren. Grandma later married Lou Germar. He was a great man and Grandfather to us all.

I feel Grandma was the center of this family, therefore this is dedicated to her memory with all my love and appreciation for being such a wonderful, caring person and Grandmother. I would like to also remember all of those who have gone before us. May their love and spirits light our way.

My Dad, Bob Boese was very young when he came to the Wetherell/Germar family through his best friend Don Wetherell. Also very young when he married my Mom, Ruth Wetherell, 17 & 16, as well as when I got them at 18 & 17. It is not easy raising parents! Grandma always thought of him as a son, not just a son-in-law. Most of Dad's ancestors migrated from Prussia to Russia in the late 1700's and were then considered "German-Russian Mennonites". They immigrated in the late 1800s to the U.S. (other Mennonite's to Canada). They were seeking religious freedom and brought their winter wheat to the mid-western states. Robin

                          *******************************************

* Temple was Harry Wetherell's Mother, Jenny's maiden name. Census records and what is written in Grandma's Bible are the only references found stating Henry Beakler as being his father, therefore leaving us wondering if he was his real father. He was adopted by Calm Burr Wetherell when he was a child.

Some of the direct bloodlines are -- Kammerer, Bussard, Allshouse, Scheibler, possibly Beakler, Temple, Spencer, Truxel, Bott, Darr, Blaker, Leix, Boese (BAZE), Froese (PHRASE), Friesen, Fast, Koehn (Kane) and Dyck. -- Wetherell was an adopted name, but many of Harry Wetherell's family where born to this name and have started their own legacy. Germar is not a bloodline, but he was my Grandpa and I wanted to include some of his family with mine.

Frantz was changed to France, Bleikers to Blaker, Holtzinger to Holtzer, 1 line of Leix to Likes. Some different spellings found for same line: Fraese for Froese, Kemerer, Kaemerer, Kommerer, Cammerer for Kammerer, Koenen for Koehn (Kane), Bossert, Buzzard for Bussard, Dueck for Dyck. They are entered under one spelling and noted when found under a different spelling.
