About The Birrells Family
Please sign in to see more.
Updated 22nd February 2020
My Birrell Family came from Edinburgh Scotland, My Father David migrated alone to Australia in 1927 at the age of 16 years. His occupation listed as Van Boy on the passenger list His older brother William Duncan arrived the same year and would have been 22 years old. The Story goes that William Duncan and two other men jumped ship in Adelaide, which would suggest they had a working passage, to date I have not found the ship they arrived on. Their sister Elizabeth (Dolly) migrated to Australia also but that was at a later date, Now confirmed
I have made contact with my cousin In Ireland, the son of my fathers other brother who migrated to Ireland

The Robinson family is evolving as I have traced the family and some still live in the same area 300 years later

Hackett Family have made some progress need to see Emma Hacketts 1905 marriage licence for more details, have found Hacketts in USA that are related just need to make contact. Contact now made

March 2014 have added all the Hacket names that I know are related and birthdays some may still be alive, I have listed them as Deceased so more people can see the information have photos of these people uploaded
Interesting part not all my past relatives lived by socially accepted standards of the day. In fact no different than some of us are today in 2014, except they were less open about it

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
