About The Haloulakos Family - ΜΑΝΗ
THE HALOULAKOS FAMILY TREE
 (Haloulakos,Chaloulakos,Halulakos,Χαλουλακος)

Around the beginning of the 19th century ,families started moving from the mountains of INNER MANI to the more fertile and arrable regions outside Gythio... The Haloulakos family started when two brothers of NAME WE DON'T KNOW (i am still searching) appeared in Gythio aerea, one selling "mezedes" or snacks, the other selling "paximadia" or "haloulakia" (small cubes of dehydrated bread).
Thence one brother became known as MEZITIS and the other as HALOULAKOS.They came from the village of KELEPHA,on the top of the mountains near AEROPOLIS.. In the 1820's they appeared two first cousins both named PIERROS HALOULAKOS.We call them PIERROS 1 and PIERROS 2.(story Courtesy of Bill Elia Haloulakos)

In 2002 my cousin Eleni Panagiotarakou Kargakou Phd began a project known as Lakonian Family Trees. In 2008 i began The Haloulakos Family Tree.I have spent many hours of research but i wouldn't success anything without Eleni's help:)I dedicate this family tree to my mother Aristea Kartsounis Haloulakos,my grandfather Panayiotis "Potaras" Ioanni Haloulakos and my son Ioannis Panayioti Haloulakos and to all relatives out there
