About The Walsh, Martin & Allied Families

Remember genealogy, like life, isn't an exact science.
It's more about the journey than the destination.

Welcome to the genealogy homepage of Christopher and Margaret (Martin) Walsh!

Our ancestors are mainly from the British Isles and Germany. Since coming to the United States, they have lived all along the Eastern seaboard and into the Midwest and Southern states, a few even reaching the Western shores.

The terminolgy "Allied Families" is of special consequence to us not only because we are allied by marriage but because, throughout our various branches on both sides, groups of families traveled the road of time together. Many were co-owners of properties or businesses. Many intermarried and then moved on, only to intermarry with other "allied" families who had journeyed alongside for some time, often across oceans and continents.

Our goal is to share what we know about our family trees, not only for the benefit of our known family members but also in hopes of making new connections.

We hope you'll find this site user friendly and that if you find anything of
interest you'll drop us a message either by e-mail or guest book. If you
are a relative, known or as yet unknown, please at least 'sign' the
guestbook.

God Bless.
 Chris & Maggie.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
