John Spicer and Rachel ? are believed to have built the house at Kingston,Hazelbury Bryan in  1714,the date found when plaster was removed on stone when renovations were undertaken in  2002.John maybe born in Buckland Newton, their family were baptised Hazelbury Bryan as  follows :John 03-06-1728, Rachel 03-04-1731, William 12-03-1732, James 22-05-1735, Elizabeth 02-07- 1737, Joseph 19-05-1738, Rachel 24-03-1741, Mary 04-04-1745. Rachel 2nd birth died 08-09-1732,  Rachel number 2 died 17-08-1829 and married James Upshall in 06-12-1763 died 1822 of Hazelbury  Bryan and had 5 children as follows : Joseph 14-08-1749, Bethiah 1767, Robert Robin 21-10-1764,  Mary 1772, Charles 1774, extracts of Rachel of Haselbury Brian widow married John Cosh of  Piddletrenthide 14-09-1750 at Mappowder,Dorset.
