About Sherwood-Cameron Tree
Please sign in to see more.
This tree owes a lot to the research of Stan Gray, Katherine Gray Soucoup & the late Betty Sherwood Tayti (Grays/Sherwoods), Philip Pratt (Dagles), David Cameron, Betsy Winslow (Cameron) and Tzigany Cameron (Cameron, Dagles, Veinotte).

I think this kind of work is important, but it gives me weird feelings doing it. Ancestral work is good stuff. It helps us figure out where we came from & some of who we might be in literal genetic terms. It also energetically sorts out ancestral wounds & gives them time & space to heal. I even kind of like the mysteries implied but often not revealed or resolved.

Some of the weird feelings come I think from getting so directly in touch with the weight of patriarchy, the briefness of life, the observable fact that 99.99% of personal history disappears at each death for most of us.

I'd like to get around to including sound snippets of people's voices and video clips & clippings & family comments. Knowing that I am one of the last persons on the planet who can clearly "hear" my Great Grandmother's voice, in memory, moves me. It is so easy with current technology to pass on so much more of picture, voice, events. But will anyone care? Maybe the faded & folded half-told stories are the
strongest. Perhaps a poet would know.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
