About Due Sorelle ~ Legacy of Two Sisters
Welcome to our website ~ Due Sorelle. Due Sorelle is Italian for Two Sisters.
In this case it refers to the two Bianchi sisters - Margherita and Teresa - that became the maternal progenitors of the Scala and Savarese families. Chances are that if you are visiting this website you are part of their family.
I must admit that I had never even heard the Bianchi name mentioned within the family until I became interested in our genealogy. But it is to these two sisters that I dedicate this website, because (whether I knew them or not!) they were responsible for my most valued possession - the close-knit, loving family - and all of the family memories -that I hold so dear to my heart.
While we may never know what these two sisters looked like, I know from my own life that they must have come from a family filled with love -- and now each of us carries within us that undeniable "Legacy of Two Sisters".
I hope you'll enjoy learning where your family came from as much as I did. I look forward to hearing from you after your visit and welcome any input that you may have. Please don't take offense to any errors that you may find -- just let me know and they will be corrected. And I'd love to include any photographs that you'd like to share to bring this family tree to life...as well as any family memories or stories that might be of interest. 'Milestone Photos' work particularly well (birth announcements, wedding photos, graduation portraits, etc.), but any of your favorites can be included.
Oh...and I would be terribly remiss if I didn't extend a special thanks to the Nugent family (Janet, Nancy and of course, Aunt Flossie) for helping me get this project off the ground by recording and protecting all of Grandma Teresa's "genealogical gems" for so many years.
Buona visita!

GENERAL FAMILY BACKGROUND:
All three of these families - Bianchi, Savarese and Scala - hail from the small hamlet of Sieano in the town of Vico Equense, Italy. Vico Equense is on the Sorrento Peninsula in the Campania region near Naples. Please check out the Vico Equense Photo Album for a quick pictorial tour of our ancestors hometown!
In September of 2011 Dan and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary by touring our hometown region of Italy for 2 weeks! It is a trip that I will always remember and cherish...and I will be sharing my photojournal with you via this website. Enjoy!
