Because I knew so little about my ancestors I decided at the age of 64 to delve into the past. It really is true, I knew so little about my family tree.   It has been a time of learning and enjoyment and in some cases a little sad.  We have spent many hours at Record Offices and the Public Library in putting  this tree together.

In some cases I have found that I need help, so if anybody who reads my family  tree has knowledge of any of my family especially John & Elizabeth Eleanor  McCartney from Gateshead I would like to hear from you.

Thanks for the help of a very nice Gentleman I found my Grandmother, she was  born in Weir City, Kansas, USA. It filled a void in my life, I never knew my  Grandparents as they were both deceased before I was born & my mother never  spoke about her childhood to us children, why, I don't know, but from what I  have learned since finding relatives thru doing this tree, it wasn't a very  pleasant childhood for her & her siblings. My Grandmother died in 1928 at the  age of 36 giving birth to twins who also died.
