About “Who Made the Johnson Family?”
This site is dedicated to my children and their future children :)

This tree is a work-in-progress and has been created for "fun" only and any sources of verification found within this tree is purely happenstance. All names have been added by viewing other awesome family trees plus links to articles on various websites created by actual genealogists (in other words, someone else did the real work).

Andrew's basic family history comes from the volume "Our Family History" by Malcolm and Jean Johnson (printed revision 2009) which was printed after many years of research by his parents until Wentworth "Malcolm" Johnson's death in 2014. Any updates from his lines will be through Stephen's (Andrew's brother) genealogy work.

If you believe YOU belong in my tree, I would be delighted to add you and the branch of family that connects us. All "Living" family members names (and related info) are protected from Public View. If you are a family member of mine or Andrew’s and would like access to restricted information plus add new names to your branch of the tree, please “Request Invitation” (near the top right of Home Page).

Enjoy! Please feel free to sign my Guest Book before you leave the site :)

Ah, the fun of DNA testing!!

I have received my results from both 23andMe and FamilyTreeDNA. Most DNA jargon goes right over my head but I strive to understand/interpret my results.

Success today (April 12/18) -- I have linked 2 of my FamilyTreeDNA matches to my tree -- 2 very, very distant cousins of my paternal line living in Canada and USA. Super fun :)

Found 5 more distant cousins through MyHeritage.com through common DNA and mutual family tree matches (May 2018)

PLEASE NOTE: my family tree at MyHeritage.com has rapidly outgrown this tree (using Smart Matches) in an attempt to reconcile my relationship to my DNA matches. DNA results have been uploaded to the same site to make matching easier. Feel free to visit "Dyment/Johnson family history" at MyHeritage.

Let’s find out together how we are related — contact me :)

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
