Welcome to our family tree!

I was inspired to create this tree in 2005, when two of my relatives passed away without my  ever having met them. It was then that I realized just how little I knew about my family  history, despite it leading directly to my own existence!

Since then, I have added over 3000 names, traced lines back to Charlemagne and Rollo the Viking  and gathered many amazing stories about my family. I feel that I have only scratched the  surface at this point, as the more you know, the more you want to know.

Great care has been taken to add reliable and multiple sources for each name. However, it   should be kept in mind that, particularly in the case of royal or very distant lines, we are  relying on the speculation of historians and genealogists of the time.

As I want this to be an accurate account of family history, I am always seeking documents,  photos, and family information. Anyone in possession of these things is encouraged to email me  at rjw@tenthousandnames.com. I will, of course, return the favor and welcome you to any info  and photos found here.
