About Watts, Mangum and Allied Families
Hi family!! This page contains all the information I have gathered so far on both my maternal and paternal families. A lot of the information comes from my personal knowledge and personal research. Immediate family members assisted greatly in giving me information as well as my 'new found' distant cousins. IF ANYONE HAS ANY CORRECTIONS OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR PICTURES TO ADD, PLEASE EMAIL ME. Also, please sign my Guestbook! I would love to hear what you think about the site.

MATERNAL FAMILY includes Watts, Cargile, Hopper, Gillespie, Hensley, Mansell, Avery, Avera,
Mohler, Goodman,etc.

PATERNAL FAMILY includes Mangum, Ferrell, Moore, Cunningham, Stephen, Greaves, Davis, Duval,
etc. One of the wonderful discoveries I made while researching this family is that
years ago I moved to Talmo, GA and being a Mangum I was living off of A.L. Mangum Rd.,Mangum Rd. and
Mangum Mill Rd. The cemetery of the church down the road was full of Mangum's. Upon research I
found out that the Mangum's in this area (Hall and Jackson County, GA) were descendents of Howell
Mangum who was the brother of my 4th great grandfather Joseph Mangum of Warren
County,N.C. Howell had fought in the Revolutionary War and received a land grant in nearby Franklin
County,GA. NOTE: I was born and raised in Texas and moved to Georgia back in 1978.

Another amazing fact I have discovered in my research on the Mangum family is that my
grandfather, Elmous Freda Mangum, had a son he never knew about. His first cousin, Edgar
Mangum, had married Frances Bush. Grandad fell in love with Frances' sister Lessie
Bell Bush while working on his cousin's farm in Wills Point, TX. Grandad asked for her hand in
marriage and received a resounding NO!!. In 1918 Lessie had a child out of wedlock and listed
grandad's name as the father on the birth certificate). This child, was listed as Eldon Ray
Bush on the birth certificate. After the baby was born, Lessie left the baby with her parents
and moved away in disgrace. She later married Felix Woods and Felix evidently adopted Eldon Ray
"Dell" and his last name became Woods.

Be sure and see my Stories below. I will be adding more in the coming weeks and if anyone has any family stories they would like to add, I would be most happy to add them.

The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
