This branch of the Obry`s is rooted in Southeast Wisconsin with several family  ties located in Racine, Wi.  This branch is not to be confused with Obry`s  located in East Central Wisconsin and others located in Ohio.  Family members  settled in Chicago and Kane County Illinois during the 1890`s after immigrating  from Germany.  The family has its roots in southwest Germany, the province of  Phalz, and the village of Weilerbach (Kaiserslautern area) The Zierk side of  the family has roots in the Dundee/Elgin Illinois area (Kane Co.)and migrated  to the Racine area where several reside today. The Zierks originated in  northeast Germany, the province of Pommern, the village of Franzburg.
