In case you decided to look for me as "Elizabeth", don't bother ~~ my given name at birth was BETTY ~ after my Aunt Betty who was always called Betty even though (for her) it was shortened from Elizabeth. I've been fighting that battle all my life with schools & miliary & medicos etc.. Betty is a fine name, I like it & I do not intend to let other officious folk change it on me, so there!

In June of 2008 I started gathering information for family trees for my Grandchildren. I do this strictly as a hobby and most often find my information from other websites. Therefore, I'd like to warn that while I like to have accurate information, I'm not someone who always takes the time to find documented sources (such as, certificates and other records). My information is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate so if you find any inaccuracies, please let me know.

My Mother's side of my family tree is quite well documented. Florence Emily (Peters) DeLisle(my Mother's Cousin) did the research & compiled most of the information prior to February 1961 that is contained in the book "ANCESTRY" printed by George Edward Peters (my Uncle) on Jan 10, 1976. Also I have a copy of a PAF (Personal Ancestry File" from Dave (Duke) Earl Peters (my Second Cousin) with which I will be able to crosscheck (& correct) entries. Since then various bits of information have fallen into my hands, mainly from Canada Census, land records, burial records etc., and are being incorporated herein.

A "leaf" way over on the other side of this tree from me has recently waved and has been extremely helpful by sending me snailmail packages full of information he has gleaned from more than 20 years of research. Wherever I have remembered I have put in a 'credit' line ~ but ~ being the excitable (& forgetful) type that I am I may have leaped onto the next branch before saying "Thanks" ~ so please know that many of the additions and corrections to the Mandeville/Brush/Peters data *includes info kindly provided by W. B. Mandeville to me ~ B. A. Ramsay*

My Father's side is less well documented so I have tried to pull what information I do have together so that his branch of the tree leafs out more fully. The Official Records from Scotland have enabled me to fill in a bit more info about great & great/great grandparents.

In 2009 I started adding my mother's brother's wife's family - most of whom were early settlers of Nova Scotia, Canada ~ whose families before them had settled the Plymouth Colony in what is now Mass.,USA. Stephen Hopkins with two children from his first marriage to Mary (Constance & Gyles), his second wife Elizabeth and their daughter (Demaris) came from England to the Americas on the ship MAYFLOWER. A son (Oceanus) was born aboard the MAYFLOWER. Constance Hopkins is a direct ancestor to my Aunt Lil through her father Charles ~ while Gyles Hopkins is her direct ancestor through her mother Ethel. I have charted both those lines and combined them into a .jpg 'photo' which may be viewed in the photo (documents) album here.

A few other trees here on Tribalpages and other websites have branches in common with my tree ~ and I have tried to remember to credit them when I have used their information.

The internet gives me source upon source to sites where I can gather, compare and verify data ~ so this traveller will have endless trips to take down the information highway. My "real world" travels are a thing of the past ~ I have finally settled in Osoyoos, BC, Canada ~~ this is my 59th address (coast to coast & overseas)! So ~ if you hear me zooming through cyberspace you will know I may be taking "virtual vacations" ~revisiting places I have been or finding new ones.

May all our trees live and flourish.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
