About The Walsh Family
This family tree is dedicated to our ancestors and all members of the greater Walsh family and also the Cleere Family from Ballingarry Thurles Co Tipperary Some of us are now the senior decendants and its up to each of us to pass on
our knowledge, stories and photographs of all who are gone before us and who touched our lives for a while. Our children, grand children, and great grand children deserve it. This is a great way of sharing our lives with all our high's and low's. Our future generations will be able to look back put a face on a name and know where they came from.
I have been gathering information about the Walsh & |Cleere family for the past few years. On 6th Oct 2009 I was in the registery office Grattan
St Cork updating details of our ancestors as of now I have yet to find and confirm Bill Walsh & Hannah Dineen's marriage (between 1901 & 1904) where! is the problem! I have received a letter from the PP of Aghinagh Parish Fr Michael Corkery and he could not find any record of this marriage in Bealnamorriv, Ballinagree or Rusheen so the hunt goes on!. I have now checked with The Civil Registration Office in Roscommon they did a search for the marriage between 1901 & 1905 but could not locate it. It is possible that they went to England for a time and got married there. Their first child Michael was born in 1904 in Carrigthomas Ballinagree Co Cork. (more research needed Oct 2011)
The marriage of Bill Walsh's Father & Mother (Michael & Margaret Connors took place in Kilfinnane Co Limerick on 15th February 1874. I got a lovely letter from the PP of Kildorrery he said that at the time of their wedding it would not be unusal for them to move to Farrahy to work in the big house (Bowencourt) for a few years hence their children Thomas, William & Margaret were born in Farrahy in 1875. 1877 & 1879. Information I have got from Michael Walsh & Margaret Connor's Civil Marriage Certificate indicated the name of Michael's father as Thomas Walsh of Farrahy Kildorrery or address. Likewise Margaret Connors father name was William Connors of Kilfinnane Co Limerick. I want to thank our only living aunt, Eliza Walsh (Barry)
who through her daughter and our cousin, Rita Barry (Keane) is identifying people on the old photos. We need you to check through
your photos' upload one's you think are of our parents and grand parents era, and we will try to identify them. I am also trying to get memorial cards of all our dead ancestors, please also check them out because you might have the one's we are missing. It is now up to each of you out there to fill in your portion of the family, this can be done by contacting me on my email paddywalsh15@hotmail.com or mobile 087-9524294 with your email address so that I can invite you through tribalpages to update, edit & upload photos of your section of the family. Please be aware that no member of the family will have an identical family tree due to their spouse and their family. Anyone on the family tree can pick his or her ancestor or decendant and print a tree or report(example, Gus Hennessy can pick his Father and print his decendants on a report or tree) If you notice a mistake on the Family Tree please let me know, or if you can correct it yourself, do so. As I am the owner of the webpage I can see all entries being made, so don't worry about contacting me.(more done more to do) 3 Sep 2009 as can been seen I am in the process od uploading photographs there is room for 10,000. It is fairly slow as each photo has to be scanned to the computer first before uploading can commence. Now anyone out there that has a scanner please feel free to add as many photos as you like to the webpage. As soon as I get through the albums I have I can upload photos for any of you that has not got a scanner. Just put them in a envelope/box and get them to me. I can assure you that all photos will be returned.
I attended the funeral of our cousin John Cleere who died on 1st Sep 2010 and was buried in Ballingarry after the funeral I was invited back to Ted & Margaret Brennan's house and while there got a lot of information on the Cleere clan. I will need to go back during the new year to finalise some details. At this point in time the family home at Ballinagree is back in the family (a relation of our grandmother Hannah Dineen.) While the Cleere family home at Foyle Ballingarry is also back in the family.(details later)
I have just attended the funeral of my cousin Patrick Brennan(RIP) in Ballingarry on Sat 21st Sep 2019 and met with his family and shared some details with them and others cousins. Some updating has taken place between myself and some members of Patrick's family, Martin's family & Raymond's family. more later
Paddy.
