About The Hall Family
Welcome! I hope you enjoy looking through our family tree. I am proud of our family and ancestors and wanted to put the information together in a readable way to share. Hopefully, you will enjoy reading through this. If you see any mistakes I have made please let me know. Some of my ancestors had more than one birth or death date on different documents. If you know for a fact that it's wrong I will gladly change it. Names on census sheets were sometimes spelled incorrectly because either the person giving the information or the person receiving the info didn't know how to spell it. I have even found mistakes in death certificates. That aside, remember without these remarkable people we would not have been born.

While going through the time lines think of what happened at that time period. Some of our family members were in the Rev. War, Civil War, WWI, WWII. We had family members important to the beginning of our country and even a moonshiner.

Please remember that many family names went back and forth in a family. Many people in the past didn't travel far from home and married neighbors or cousins. Sometimes this happened many times and you wound up with a marriage maze.

Most of these family members on this site never used a computer, cell phone, microwave, remote, plasma TV or any TV. They still laughted, cried, played, worked, lived and died. Had good times and bad and valued their family. I dedicate this site to them.

The Day Family and Moore Family and Ancestors
Going back through the ancestors of Courtney Leon Day Sr. you find many of the Day's born in Kentucky. Most were farmers with very large families. Many came from Virginia. Earlier in the line our ancestors came from
England, Ireland and France. Make sure you read the story of James F. Moore.

The Petty and Herbert Family and Ancestors
Recently information was found on the Herbert side. Andrew Taylor Herbert, who was my great, great grandfather, was very important in early Covington, KY. He was a politician and when he died in 1905, his funeral was one of the largest of that time. Ancestors were from Virginia
but no information on what country they came from before that. This family claims a world famous horseback rider, Dorothy Herbert.

The Sander and Knust Family and Ancestors
Originated in Germany. The Sander men were into cigar making. Both the Sander Family and Knust family came from Germany. The Knust family lived in Ferdinand, Indiana before coming to Northern Kentucky.

The Powers and Madden Family and Ancestors
The Powers and Madden Family were from Ireland. Marie Powers Sander had some very successful siblings. Her brother, Thomas Powers was a priest. I found alot of information about him. Please read. Her sister was a nurse. Marie's father's name was John Powers. There were alot of John Powers at that time. There were alot of Powers that lived at 2009 Pearl Street in Covington, KY. Hard to straighten out who was who.

The Childers and Evans Family and Ancestors.
The Childers and Evans Family were from Virginia. Moving to Kentucky they settled in Grant County and were very important in the development of that county.

The Holman and Zimmer Family and Ancestors
These two families were from Germany. Zimmer has an s added on some documents.

The Stephens and Hall Family and Ancestors
The Stephens Family played a very important part in Boone County, KY. Read about our famous relatives. The Stephens family originated in Virginia and before that England. The Waller line of the Stephens family dates back to 1098 in Neward, Nottinghamshire, England. Amos Hall's family were from England and his wife Elizabeth's family were from Ireland.
