About The Howard-Fund Family Tree
Please sign in to see more. This family tree depicts the joining of the Howard family and the Fund family in the marriage of Enid Marie Howard and Arnold Fred Fund on February 21, 1948. It traces their ancestors back as far as possible and then traces those ancestors’ descendants forward as far as possible. All people related by blood or adoption to the Howard side of the tree are color coded blue. Those related by blood or adoption to the Fund side of the tree are color coded red.
PRIVACY PROTECTION
To protect the privacy of living people, an Access Code is required to view their information. To request an Access Code, click on the “admin” link in the Security box. The Access Code will be sent to the email address that you provide. To enhance security, the code will be changed periodically. If the code you have doesn’t work, request a new code.
SITE DEVELOPMENT
Please help make this family tree as accurate and complete as possible by sending corrections and additions to the webmaster. Please include as much as possible of the following information about each person: full legal name (maiden name for women); date and place of birth; date and place of death; date and place of current and previous marriages; full name of each spouse (maiden name for women); date of divorce; full name of father and mother; names of children from each marriage.
Information may be submitted via the “send a message” link or the “contact me” link above. As an alternative, you may request the email address or postal address of the webmaster.
PHOTOS
Photos on this site have been taken by the webmaster, submitted by family members, or copied from Facebook. Please submit more of your favorite photos of you and your family from throughout the years. A recent head-and-shoulders photo if each individual is requested as the first photo that is seen when you click on a name. Additional photos, including group shots, can also be posted. It is especially nice to have photos of special events such as graduations, weddings, etc. and group shots of couples and whole families (including extended families). If you are unable to digitize photos, the webmaster can do that if you mail prints.
PERSONAL BIOGRAPHIES
Historical information is included about each person when available. You can submit historical information in any form and the webmaster will edit it as necessary to construct a biography. Think of what future generations would like to know about you and your family when the present generations are gone. It can be record here so it can be preserved and passed on. Information can be updated as often as necessary, so keep adding to the history of living people as years go by.
Because each person’s history overlaps with the history of other people, there is a lot of duplication in stories on this site. Common histories are told from the perspective of each person named in a story. The story is the same but the point of reference is different. Editing stories to reflect many different perspectives is a very cumbersome task and it is easy to make mistakes. Here, again, please let the webmaster know if you spot any inconsistencies, contradictions, or other errors.
WEBMASTER
As one of the children of Enid Marie Howard and Arnold Fred Fund, I am related to the families on both sides of this tree. This family tree is about more than just genealogy. It is about human history and human migration.
It fascinates me to see the factors that cause some people live their whole lives and die in the same place as their birth while others cross physical and political boundaries to settle in other places. With each new generation, people of the same blood line spread farther apart, meet people of other blood lines, and form new families all over the world. This family tree graphically depicts that story.
The tree also shows the wide range of life experiences. There are small families and large families. There are short lives and long lives. There joys and sorrows, triumphs and tragedies. By recording historical information on this site I like to put myself in the place of each individual and imagine what life must have been like for them and how the world must have seemed to them.
A family tree is never complete because new family events (marriages, births, and deaths) keep occurring. This is an ongoing project. When I become too old to continue with it I hope there will be someone in a later generation who will be interested in taking it over and continuing with it. I wish more of my ancestors had recorded family information before their memories and lives were gone. Maybe what I am recording today will be valuable to someone after my memory and life are gone.
