About My Mills/Saunders Families and lots of other names too
Please sign in to see more. My interest in researching my family began when I saw an article about the 1901 census being on line from January 1st 2002. I didn't manage to access the site until about September 2002 because of all its problems.
So instead I starting searching the net for information and found the Family Records Centre, read all about it and found out that I could look for birth, marriage and death certificates and all census returns for the whole country from 1841 until 1891. Well that was it - I was hooked! I spent many hours at the FRC looking through the indexes and spent more than I care to count on certificates. I also found out how one's back and neck aches after hours of looking at census returns on microfilm. Of course these days there is so much on line that it makes research a lot easier.
Like many others before me, I came into family history at a time when many of my older relatives had gone to join my ancestors and I look back now and think why didn't I ask more questions. Trouble is when you are young each day is an adventure and you think everyone will be around for ever.
I have met so many wonderful, helpful people through my research, both in person and through various web sites I have used. I am now in touch with people all over the world. Like the film of the same name, I try and 'Pay it Forward' and give as much help to fellow researchers as I can to repay all the help and guidance that has been given to me.
I hope you enjoy viewing my family and please free to contact me. Who knows - perhaps we are distant cousins just waiting to make contact.
