About John and Bridget Dillon
G'day, My name is Anthony Vanderzweep and I'd like welcome all the visitors to this family website. I named this site to honor my ancestors John and Bridget Dillon who moved to Australia from Ireland in 1853. I had the maybe naive idea of limiting the site to just John & Bridget's immediate early descendants, but after my wife Jenny decided to add her Dutch family branch to the archives, I realized that this family tree project could potentially become something bigger than anticipated. Well, then I thought why not let this tree grow naturally, to find out how people from across the world from different cultures and ages are somehow related to each other. I have now included names and dates found in a research trail, of the Vanderzweep branch going back to 1680, even before the name was first used. This was a time when the offsprings surname was formed after the fathers first name. The earliest record was of a person named Pier Sybrens, whose fathers name was likely Sybren.
