Alva Johnson Smith has worked on the Johnson, Besser, and Herman lines for many years finding and confirming that information with documentation.  She has been the driving force behind the website.  Bernard Johnson also contributed information about the Johnson brothers who immigrated to and remained for the most part in Minnesota.  There have been many other sources for information who I wish to thank.

This website was created to share information with interested relatives near and far.  Please be especially careful about adding information that you are not sure is correct.  As with any genealogy there will be errors, sometimes because there were two sources with conflicting information.  When possible please give credit for your source of information with as much detail as possible.  If you find errors that I need to correct, please send me a message and tell me the error and your source, so I can make the correction.
