About The Hardie Family
Please sign in to see more.
If you are reading this,we are probably related somehow. Welcome, cousin! I am so excited to share your heritage with you! I have been working on this for many years and I have piles and piles of information about our family. I haven't yet written a detailed hisory of the family (other than the masterpiece in my head! But it's in there. Just need to get it written down).

Our Hardie family originates in St. Ninians,Stirling, Scotland where the oldest known Hardie was born in about 1715. Our most immediate Scottish family came from Kilsyth, Scotland (see Historical Pictures folder) and emigrated to Western Pennsylvania, settling in the vicinity of Hickory Township (Historical Pictures), where they were miners. Several of the brothers from this family continued on to Illinois, but my particular line went to Pittsburgh, where my grandpa Edward Hardie, was born.

I have a history document written in MS Word that I will be glad to share, also tree charts in PDF and ahnentafel reports that show your particular ancestry- just give me your name and tell me what you want. I also have many official documents, such as marriage certificates, death certificates, etc. If you would like copies, please don't hesitate to call me Karin Hardie Book . You can also email me at karin4467@yahoo.com My goal is to put this
together into a book. If you have any stories, pictures, or history that you would like to include here, please let me know! I'd love to hear from you, even if it's just to let me know you were here. Enjoy the site!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
