ROBERT`S are we - well quite a lot of us are and if your name isn`t ROBERTS then be sure that if you are included on this family tree you are most certainly descended from, or married to someone who has been, or is descended from someone of said name
Edward Roberts 1801 - 1878 Llanyblodwel
A Farmer and builder of our great family

There is little doubt that the name Roberts is in common use in the 18th. and 19th. century and in the 1881 British Census there are 46,002 recorded Roberts`s living in Wales alone. That`s some Roberts to get through to find one`s ancestors. Johannes Roberts born 1699 in Llanyblodwel a small village on the Shropshire/Welsh borders (Marches)is the furthest we are able to go back on the Roberts side as Parish records before this date are unavailable but the earliest recorded event found so far is the birth of Richard Jehu in 1560. The Jehu`s were a family of immigrant Flemish Clothworkers who settled in and around Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomeryshire. The Jehu`s enter the family tree with the marriage of Margaret Jehu 1787-1856 to John Jones 1773-1851.
Grandfather WALTER WYNN ROBERTS 1879-1965 was the last of the Roberts`s to be born in Llanyblodwel. This lovely village plays a very important role in the life and times of our ancestors and the Church of St. Michaels has been the venue for more than a hundred Baptisms, Weddings, and Burials over more than eight generations of our Roberts`s and their marriage lines.

Llan Farm, just down the road from the pub! (very convenient)
