They came from England, Sweden, Scotland, Wales, France, Ireland, Germany, and Prussia - all looking for a better life for themselves and their children.  They endured hardships and losses, triumphs and joys.  Some buried their children, some young mothers, some husbands from war, and even some from horrific violence.  In some way, their blood flows through us, along with their hopes and dreams.

These are our ancestors and their descendants,and this is their legacy.  Through these pages, along with their pictures, I hope you come to know them, as I have.  They are who we are.  Because of them, we live in a free country - a precious gift given to us by their faith and courage.  So, turn back the pages of time.  Hear their echoes and follow their shadows.
