About Coulson/Thompson/Snaith/Hope/Crosson/Allison/NE England
I`m a Thompson...Lynn Thompson...I live in Shildon, a town in County Durham, it`s between Darlington and Bishop Auckland.
Shildon is famous for the steam trains that first began here. Shildon has also a brand new steam village and has thousands of visitors every year. The Thompson family (my fathers side)all came from Shildon as far as I can go back in my ancestry at this present moment in time, although they were widespread after they all married....us,we are still here.

The Coulson family (my mothers side) came from the Northern Counties & Bishop Auckland area
 including Willington and Oakenshaw.
My grandfather Coulson had twelve siblings and as they were all born around the 1900 mark I can account for them...a musical family, most earned their money working in the local pits.....going further back I am currently struggling after my ggg grandfather Joseph Coulson.....More digging needed!!

The Crosson family (mothers side)I had a bit more luck with, and corresponded with a lady from the USA, who had a lot of infomation and pictures......the Crossons too were living mainly in Bishop Auckland from the early 1800`s. All married and went their separate ways, except my g grandfather who remained in the town, married, had a daughter and died there. One of the family moving to the United States moves the family across the pond.

If anyone has any information that would help me I would very much appreciate it, also if anyone can see any errors, dates or otherwise,I would be grateful.
