About Barker/Bell family
Hello and welcome to The Barker/Bell family tree. I`m Thora and I`ve lovingly spent many hours researching this information with the kind help of many friends and family.

My delving has also put me in touch with distant cousins, 4 or 5 times removed, and helped me to discover many interesting facts about my wonderful family history.

For your information, under the `births` heading the earlier entries are most likely to be christenings and the same applies to deaths where some may be burial dates.

Since starting this website, I`ve managed to find some pictures of the many beautiful churches associated with my family tree. Many of the pictures have been used with the kind permission of Steve Bulman. Please visit his website for more interesting photos and information on Cumbria.

I hope you enjoy having a look around here. Please take the time to let me know what you think by signing my guest book.

Also do look at the links.

Food for thought.

                ANCESTORS

If you could see your ancestors
 all standing in a row,
Would you be proud of them or not,
 or don`t you really know?
 Some strange discoveries are made
 in climbing family trees
and some of them you know do not
 particularly please.

If you could see your ancestors
 all standing in a row,
There might be some of them perhaps,
 you wouldn`t care to know.
 But here`s another question which
 requires a different view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
would they be proud of you?

In memory of Edith Littledale
          1848-1920.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
