About hotchpotch
My name is Neida Parkin nee Elliott I am the Web Master of this site. I was born in Skegness Lincolnshire a well known Holiday resort on the east coast of England.

Paternal Family Surnames direct line Elliott of Licolnshire Nottingham Norfolk and Derbyshire. Rimmington of Linconshire.
 Norfolk
Maternal family Surnames direct line Smith of Norfolk and Durham. Dawson of Northumberlnad and Durham.

The Elliott line is of particular interest to my close family, they were Roma Gypsies. This Elliott Paternal line starts with John Elliott b c1775 and Jemmima Smith b c1775, note marriages of their children and you will see a strong connection to other well know Gypsy family names Gray, Smith, Brown, Clayton and many more. Vivienn Halton who has been researching Elliott's for many years has written and published a book of trees on Elliott line and related family's she has given me permission to use some notes that were lodged with Christening and marriage records I have entered snippets of information in personal notes taken from news papers and Parish records. Vivienne has spent many years and travelled far to gather correct and exact records on this family I thank her profusely for her hard work. Recent discovery on my Maternal line shows that Joseph Pickering brother to my Great Grand Mother was Hawker
and Horse dealer, my Mother never spoke of this.

My Husband's Paternal line Parkin, Blackett, Kipling of Co Durham.

Maternal line McCluskey, Brennan, from Ireland, Northumberland and Durham.

This site could well be named the Prince and the Pauper as sur name Blackett my husbands paternal side is being well researched by experts in this field for a Royal connection through King Malcolm 111 of Scotland. Click on the link left hand side of this home page, Blacketts North East to
 find out more.

I lay no claim that all information on hotchpotch is 100% correct, I do not have all marriage or birth certificates in my records, so if you find an error and you are sure you can right a wrong please contact me.
If you have any information on your family connected to mine please let me know, I would be greatfull for any recent dates of births, marriages, deaths etc after 1901 to the present day.
