About Los Gomez Bona de Republica Dominicana y sus descendientes
Esta página esta dedicada a mis
bisabuelos Marcos Antonio Gómez y
Carvajal y a su esposa María de la
Concepción Bona y Hernández.
Concepción Bona fue una de las
tantas mujeres patriotas que
lucharon por la independencia de la
República Dominicana. Confeccionó la
primera bandera dominicana izada al
proclamarse la
Independiencia Nacional el 27 de
febrero de 1844 en el Baluarte del
Conde. Su padre Ignacio Bona,
estampó la firma #90 en el
Manifiesto de la Independencia
Nacional en 1844.
Uno de sus grandes méritos es que
sólo contaba 18 años de edad cuando
asumió el papel que el destino
le encomendó de elaborar en
clandestinidad la primera bandera
dominicana. Para llevar a cabo esta
obra, disenada por Juan Pablo
Duarte, fue asistida por su prima
hermana María de Jesus Pina Benítez.
En 1851 se casó con Marcos Antonio
Gomez y Carvajal, fundando una digna
familia ejemplo de trabajo y
honestidad. Su descendencia: 5
hijos, 26 nietos, 58 biznietos, 97
tataranietos y mas de 100 choznos.
Murió en la santa paz de su hogar el
2 de julio de 1901 a la edad de 76
años, a pocos pasos del
Baluarte del Conde, escenario de la
madrugada gloriosa del 27 de febrero
de 1844.
Como biznieta de Concepción Bona me
siento muy orgullosa de poder dejar
este legado a todos sus
descendientes, así como a los
descendientes de sus hermanos, pero
sobre todo a mis hijas y a mis
nietos.
Para poder completar este trabajo he
contado con la colaboración de una
buena parte de mis
familiares quienes han aportado
muchos datos y fotos. Alguno de
ellos los he conocido por Facebook
donde los he identificado por sus
nombres.
Esta investigación fue iniciada en
