About Rippingale Family Tree
This website contains my research on the Rippingale surname and its variants worldwide. It's a bit different from a normal family history site in that I'm concentrating on the distribution and occurrence of the Rippingale surname, rather the the history of members of the same family with different surnames. So on this site, you'll find a lot of different Rippingale family trees which I'm trying to link up.

This one-name study began like many others: a search for an elusive relative. In my case it was my 6x Great Grandmother, Susan Rippingale or Rippingall, who came from Norfolk. I gradually generated a great deal of data on the Norfolk Rippingales and in 2010, decided to expand and systematize the data into a full one-name study. It was registered with the Guild of One Name Studies in 2012. I’ve provided a link to the profile of the Rippingale family on the Guild website which gives an overview of my research to date. Click the link on the left for more.

A lot of the information that you'll find here has been gathered from indexes and family trees constructed by other people. Thanks to all who so openly shared their data. I've tried to reference those people whose work I used but if you find that you haven't been properly acknowledged, please get in touch and I'll fix it. Although I've independently confirmed a lot of the data, there are bound to be mistakes. I want to make this site as accurate as possible, so please let me know about any corrections that need to be made. Only the bare bones of my research are shown here. I often have a lot more material on individuals so if you see anything of interest, or would like to share information, send me a message. I'll be updating and adding more information regularly.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
