About The Ruscoe Family
My branch of the Ruscoe family originates in the Norbury/Marbury area of South Cheshire. From here they moved to Harthill, Malpas, Coddington and then Chester.

The Ruscoes were valued members of their communities with several being Churchwardens and Sidesmen of their local churches. They were farmers working relatively large farms, although mostly tenants not landowners.

The more recent Ruscoe ancestors were involved in the Brewery trade, having moved to Chester. My great grandfather, initially also a Brewer, eventually moved to Bromborough in the Wirral and became a Coachman.

Great grandfather John Ruscoe changed the spelling of his surname to Roscoe around 1886, which is how this branch is known today. But this variation in spelling does crop up regularly in earlier generations.

Other important branches of this tree in later years include the Duttons from Aldersey and the Warhursts from North East Cheshire and Manchester, who have become incorporated into the tree by marriage.

Although this tree is primarily for my own Ruscoes I would also like to use it as an opportunity to connect all Ruscoe descendants of the 'original' south Cheshire Ruscoes using the Ruscoe information I have gleaned so far. This will be my next challenge!

Feel free to contact me if you can add anything to this tree, either missing relatives or information/stories about the people here.

I have divided my family into separate trees. I have created a tree for each of my grandparents families, I find this easier than having one enormous tree. Some of them are not yet completed, but will be eventually! Below are links to my other trees.
