About Brown/Johnston Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
I started thinking about making a family tree many years ago but never got round in doing it, then my grandmother passed away and she was my only living ancestor left and then i thought who do i have now to ask to help me. So i asked my father did he know anything and all he knew were some names.
He didn't know much on his side of the family but by trying different names that he had heard when he was little was enough for me to start looking. We found his father was born under a different surname to what we thought it was and we also found that his ancestors were from Ireland.
On my mothers side i found that they came from England and on one side of the family, they just made it here as the boat the came over to Australia on was caught up in a very bad storm and the masts on the boat broke and that they only made it as there was a wind change.

I also started doing my husband's side of the family and i would just like to thank Mary from Germany who gave me all the information i have and without her it wouldn't be a tree.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
