In June of 2001, Ken & Shirl went on a family research trip to Poland. They found we were Lemko not Polish. Lemkos became an ethnic minority as part of the Austria province of Galicia in 1772. It is a confusing history.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.

Polish Flag

The Shirshac family started in the USA around the turn of the 20th Century or 1894 to be exact. Wasyl(Szerszyn)Shirshac emmigrated from Korlic, Poland and Anne Dzwonczyk emmigrated from Kunkowa,Poland but it wasn't Poland then, it was the Austria-Hungary Empire. We invite you to help us fill out this database. It has been a challenge to gather all this information. Ken Shirshac, has been the primary researcher and you are encouraged to contact him with information and photos at kshirsh@charter.net or #86 Route 6 Columbia, CT 06237-1021. This is a work in progress...keep checking back to see how we are doing, and help correct us if we have gotten something wrong. It's a privilege to be part ofa growing and dynamic family. Choose the first letter of the Last name from the List of Last Names above, select a surname, then an individual...enjoy exploring descendants, ancestors, relationships etc. If you see a little camera, mouse over it to see a picture. If the annoying music drives you nuts...turn it off by pressing the second button on the bar above. Enjoy. Remember: Contact us with additions, corrections etc. Sign our guest book. Our maternal Lussier family is here too. Emile Lussier and Eva Pare Lussier came to the US from Canada around the turn of the 20th Century. About 1913 +-. Same instructions as above.
