The Mckenzie Family Came from The Isle of Skye Scotland. My Gr..grandfather John Mckenzie, was born at Bernisdale ,Skye,Scotland.in 1795 ,he married Jane Murchison, born ,Lochcarron,Scotland.1801.They were Married,Lochcarron,Scotland,04- March-1842.John and Jane Mckenzie ,Migrated to Australia on the ship Miltiades, arriving October 1852 .The family settled in Heathcote,Kerang area in Victoria Australia

Moving from place to place when necessary. There were seven children, the youngest child,Alexander born 1851. He became my Grandfather,he & his wife Eliza, had seven children ,MY father George Thorne Mckenzie, was fifth in line. After W.W.1.work was hard to get,George left Melbourne Vict Australia, finaly arriving in Rainbow.Vict.Australia.where he commenced working as a builder, his first project was building the Albycutya bridge which spans outlet creek, which is fed by the Wimmera river into now, dry lakes in Wyperfeld national park.Victoria.Dad liked Rainbow and decided to settle there, which he did for the rest of his life.Dad met my mother,Mary Elizabeth Rudd.at Rainbow .Married her in 1920 all of their nine children were also born there.I am a direct decendant of John Mckenzie, starting with Alexander & Eliza,s children.MOST, of my information is from family connection, some of them I knew well. However I owe a lot of credit for this project to the valueable help of other distant relatives,to name a few DONNA WILLIS,SANDRA JOHNSTON,VICKIE ANN HULL,ROD CARNABY,MARK SMITH,CHARLES MONK .to all those who have contributed in any way I gratefully give thanks .Without your help this tree would not have taken root..
Most" John Mckenzie" Family trees have Jane Murchisons birth date as being about 1792.and marriage as 1813,this would make Jane,47 years old when her first child Roderick was born in 1839 and 59 years old when her Youngest child Alexander was born in 1851 .Ater much research,I believe That Jane OR JEAN Murchison born about 1801 Lochcarron R&C Scotland, married John Mckenzie Born 1795 Bernisdale ,Isle Of Skye .Scotland at Applecross R&C Scotland on 04 March 1842.This Information was obtained from "GENEALOGICAL INTERNATIONAL Index"Brtish Isles. This would also be more in keeping with the birth dates of their children , Which were also obtained from the same source.--(Jane Murchison B 1792 married" Alexander Mckenzie"born 1788,the marriage took place at Craig ,Lochcarron, Scotland.1813) (.International genealogical Index).I believe this information to be correct ,and have based my tree accordingly ,which does not in any way alter the line of descendance, neither does it detract from other researchers efforts, for which I gratefully give thanks . I hope they may in return gain some benefit from my efforts.I dedicate this" Mckenzie Familytree" to firstly, my MOTHER & FATHER George and Mary Mckenzie, who gave me life, to my ancestors, the brave souls who sailed so far to start a new life in a rugged foreign land, also to those intrepid seekers who have spent so much time to insure that our heritage ,will not be forgotten
