| About Spoonts Family
The Spoonts Family Tree was first compiled by Louise Spoonts Branch in the 1950's and 60's. After her death in 1966 her brother, Tom Spoonts began to update the tree and has added hundreds of names and information. After Tom's passing in 2017, the eldest daughter, Peggy Spoonts West, began the task of trying to keep up with the additions, corrections, and other information that might come in. The name "Spoonts" is an honorable name and has descended from an immigrant from Germany before 1790 whose name was Joseph A. "Spoont". The name was changed to "Spoonts" by his son, Joseph Levi who married Mary Eliza Vanderbilt. Her family came from Holland in 1600's. |
