Welcome everyone.

It was told to me that through someone else's research they found that the earliest known HURLEY  was JOHN DE HURLEIA dating back to 1210-1211.    HURLEY means "corner of cleared land".

I'd like to say a special thank you to Joy Hurley Finnegan. She has given over 100 photos to be  posted on this site for our family. It has taken a lot of time, energy, memories and heart for her  to go through these photos, with her daughter Debby doing the scanning and posting. Thank you as  well to Jacque Perkins Evens for her photos she has sent me to add to this site. We all know  that going through old family photos takes alot of love and determination as we have to relive  memories of those that have passed away and that we miss so terribly.  Thank you so much Aunt Joy  for doing this for our family. We so greatly appreciate it and know it wasn't easy. Thank you to Debby Finnegan Perkins for taking the time to scan these and post them, took alot of  work and alot of love.

We are all pieces of a huge puzzle. No matter where you "are" in the family tree of the "HURLEYs"  you are welcome to the website and to the family reunions.  Please know that nothing that is  printed/posted in here is meant to hurt anyone or embarass anyone. I am posting history and am not  intending for anyone to be offended by any info posted.  Family Secrets from 50-200 years ago are  not always the big deal now-a-days that people made them to be years ago. This is all part of our  family history.  There is a huge eclectic family.  Whether we/you/they are white, black, bi- racial, gay/lesbian, straight, single, married, divorced, widowed, married multiple times, or  never married at all.....you are all welcome to this site, because family is family. That's that!

I was able to get my hands on a book called HURLEY FAMILIES OF AMERICA by William Neal Hurley Jr.     
 Please get me any and all information that you know of and/or do not see on this web site. I  would love to even put short stories of childhood memories, memories of  an "old" family member or stories someone told you about their life/childhood  that pertain to our website. I have a place where I can put those things and  all future generations will see them.

PLEASE plan to attend. Our family is getting spread farther and farther apart and it  is so important for the younger generations to know where they came from and who  their ROOTS and FAMILY are/is.  
  
 Our earliest family member we have been able to "record" is Darby Hurley  (HURLIE) born 1617, shipped to America in 1635 (paper showing this is in the  photo section of this site). 
 I'm really loving this and getting to know so much about our family, past and  present.  I'm doing this for our future members.  This means dates/place of birth,  death, marriage/divorce, places of burial of family members, along with any name of a  family member I do not have listed. I'd rather get a double email or info than  to not list someone at all.  Info to send me is :

I'm trying to list everyone here. This will be for future generations to be  able to see WHERE they came from and from WHO/WHOM they "belong".  I hope  everyone will like this site when it is complete, this will be an on going  work in progress. BUT I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP!
