Our family name can be traced back to Samuel Gann (1703-1762) who married Elizabeth Carter (b.  1707 - ___). There is much discussion attempting to link Samuel Gann to Johannes Gann of France,  however, Johannes did not arrive in America until after Samuel was an adult, thus disproving the  relationship.

I have put as much effort into building this with accuracy as possible, however, as I continuously  find in this hobby, after you leave the 19th century, information becomes very difficult to obtain  accurately.
