Advertising and hyperlinks in Forum

I've been reading some of the posts to see if there is something that would be helpful to me.

I was reading "Adoptions and Bloodlines" by deedub posted 13 May.

Then I read the reply by Pauline Young. The word "parents" was highlighted in BLUE. So I clicked it and it went to an advertisement for a dating site.

This is very strange to me to have this invasive advertising popping up anywhere. So mow its in my TP tree and here on the TP Forum. Very annoying.

Why??

Thanks.

Carole

PS Yikes! I've just read the Preview for this message and the words "dating site" are BLUE now.

I don't know if this is any help but I went back to my reply you quoted and can't see any hyperlinks.

I checked in Chrome and Firefox. By the way, I use McAfee.

I can't see any links in your posting either.

By the way, I hope you found the post useful.

Thanks for your reply Pauline.

However, when i read my original message about this it still shows a BLUE link for the words "dating site."

That links to a site called "find me love" or something like that.

I usually use Firefox and sometimes Explorer.

I use Avast which I have found to be reliable. So I'm wondering if this has something to do with what I think is called a crawler or something like that. Some kind of SEO searcher.

Well I just don't know. Strange to me.

I just reread the original post. At first the BLUE didn't show. I waited for a bit longer than I usually would and sure enough up popped the BLUE again for the words dating site.

Wonder if it will turn BLUE in this message??

Like I say try waiting a bit.

Strange to me!!

Yup! Sure enough - the words turn BLUE again. Just waited a bit and they turned into a hyperlink.

I have checked the posting I made on the 13th July and Pauline's reply that you referred to, and cannot replicate your problem. Possibly you have a virus ?

Seems like your computer or browser is infected with a virus or (more likely) spyware. Have you tried running your site on a different browser or a different computer?

I hadn't thought of that. I've done a deep scan - hopefully that will help. Here's the trick word again - dating site and parents.

See what happens this time.

Thanks for all comments.

Yep, the word dating in the last reply has turned blue and if you hover over it it says; "Powered by text Enhance." I use google chrome, have masses of security in place and have never had it happen before. A TP problem? Has the site been compromised?

I've just gone back through the posts and can't get the links you mention, but I do run Malwarebytes, which hopefully has saved me from it. I have McAfee on this computer, but have another laptop with Norton protection. I'll check on that tomorrow and post the result.
