Go to EDIT and select either

Change SITE TILE

or

Change MAIN PERSON.

Towards the bottom of this page you will see

Custom Events

In addition to the predefined events like Birth, Death, Occupation, Census etc, you can define your own custom events. Please enter the Names of your custom events.

I have entered GAY MARRIAGE which now shows in EVENTS SELECT when you are editing a person. This will now show under their NAME/S

Isn't it a pity that TP didn't, themselves, suggest that route many years ago?

I just tried "Gay Marriage between Les and Bill" and all this came under my Name, so there is a bit of room to add explanation.

I know it is not correct, but as I have been told that one of the Partners in a relationship ,is more dominate than the other eg: Husband and Wife. Why not in the place of both partners being MAle enter one as Female, and in the case of both being Females enter one as Male, using their correct names.

If one of the Male or Female names is already entered in TP as their own sex, just add them in again as a NEW PERSON, under a different sex, other than the MALE first person(Husband) and the Female second person(Wife).

These now can be entered as a PARTNER or MARRIED . As we know that some of these Partner/Marriage either adopt or have a surrogate child, because the two persons are showing on the Family Tree , they can now add Child/Children as their own Family.

If needed they can still Change an event to signify, Gay Marriage -Adopted :etc - anything as they wish.

The PINK/BLUE can be ignored where it shows, as the main issue is to connect the Male/Female in a relationship on the Family Tree.

I know that this is only a work around, but as long as the TREE shows what you require, WHY WORRY.
