Failing to import GEDCOM

I have attempted to import what appears to be a perfectly formed and valid GEDCOM file into a new tree in Tribal Pages.

It tells me that the file is imported successfully but in fact the statistics remain at ZERO and nothing is actually imported.

I last did this successfully just before New Year.

Is TP having problems, or is there something else I need to do?

Regards

Pete

Hi Peter, as you have done it before, it cannot be you in the upload.

Are you sure that this GEDCOM is full. Go back to where you saved it from, and open it there.

You will now see if it is empty, and you will then have to save the correct one again and then upload to a FREE SITE so as you do not overwrite one that you need...

You can always check your GEDCOM with the following DOWN LOAD.

See LINK attached below

Hi Les, Many thanks for your response.

I successfully opened my GEDCOM in Family Historian, so nothing wrong with the file.

However, I tried uploading some very much smaller GEDCOM files, and they loaded in fine.

The GEDCOM I wanted to load in still wouldn't load. It was the file that Family Historian itself uses.

HOWEVER, FH tells us to EXPORT a GEDCOM using its own export routine, which I did.

That file has loaded in successfully. It has all the names in and everything else as far as I can see, but is half the size (2.5mb) of the original. So, all sorted.

Many thanks

Hi Peter, glad that you sorted it out..

That LINK I put on is well worth looking at, and you may find it useful.

If you do not like it, you can always remove it.
