Good Morning Tribal Support, Alan has asked me to look at his site, which I did, using IE and I sent him a screen shot. Everything on his HOME PAGE in my Viewing is CENTERED.

Now this is not correct as ALAN has his HOME PAGE LEFT justified. I have checked on twenty sites that I have access too ( VISITORS ) and they are all correct LEFT JUSTIFIED.

I have looked at his site using Browser SLIMJET and his site is correct LEFT justified.

Would you have any idea why I only see Alan`s as centre justified ?.

It has me baffled

Regards

Les

As I reported a few days ago, the change-to-center still may need some work. My main page will open at center but clicking edit will open the dashboard in the left justified position, Sign in to the site and it reverts back to center again. I am running IE11.

Amendment - to previous message. Clicking on edit will open the SIGN ON SCREEN in left justified.

By all accounts this is correct as Tribal Support has already mentioned that it is only the HOME PAGE that is CENTERED.

Alan and I are talking about someting quite different

All pages should be centered, not just the home page.

With regards to the about section on the homepage...Although the homepage is centered, the about section could be on the left or right of the column panel (if you choose the option with the side panel. The content of the About Section itself is left justified unless you explicitly put add

tags in the content.

Good morning. 9am in New Zealand. Just read these messages, started by Les. I thought I should add the message I sent to Tribalpages Support last night.

---------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

This, I hope, is my last message on this subject. I can hear you say "good"

As far as I am concerned You don't need to check this out any further. I have found out all I need to know. Today I started up my old Desktop computer which has Windows XP and IE 8. This is what I found.

My Scott families site - In edit > customize > Homepage layout manager. Set option 2nd and 3rd and all text and lines are fine. Not centered.

Set at top option and the text lines for the whole page are centered including text at top and bottom which is part of your information. Using that option centers everything and I don't suppose is a problem as long as the tree owner knows what he is going to get from that option when writing his home page.

There is no difference whether in compatibility view or not.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doing the same check using my windows 8.1, IE 11 computer there was one difference.

When in compatibility view all the text WAS centered when using the TOP listed option in Homepage layout manager. Using the other two options the text was not centered. That is same as above.

The difference is that when not in compatibility view the text was not centered (unless deliberately set that way when typing page) no matter which of the three options were used.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This only arose because I was looking at changing the layout of my home page and I wondered why Les and I were seeing something different. It took me a while to find the reason. All is now fine so no panic.

I hope you are all well at Tribalpages and keeping up with the changes in technology. Too much for me. I have just bought a new laptop and have since been told I am old fashioned and should be changing to an ipod. Hard to get me to change at my age and in any case at my age I don't move around that much that I need something more mobile.

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards,

Alan Scott
