Public view links have changed

I am unsure whether this has anything to do with Gary Rowden's problem below.

But what I wish to describe is certainly is a new major problem for me.

Perhaps a month ago TP dropped the public view link to an individual's name, ending with (for example) James-Hoare-FAMILY. This was fairly intuitive for any one provided with the link.

So I set up hundreds of links in external sites using this method. They are now all dead links!

For example:

http://dukeofyork.tribalpages.com/family-tree/dukeofyork/26014/807/James-HOARE-Family

(old public view, that sadly no longer works)

The new system now uses something like this

http://dukeofyork.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?view=0&rand=195396762&pid=3624&userid=dukeofyork

(family view if I am signed in)

http://dukeofyork.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?view=0&rand=249388000&pid=807&userid=dukeofyork

(public view if I am signed out)

Hardly intuitive.

I do wish TP gives appropriate notice when they make such major changes (in the background). I am now faced with locating all my external links and updating them to the latest URL, hoping that TP don't change the system again.

It is the same problem, of course, for internal links.

If you look at my home page, I have had to correct the links to the various sections of my database.

Sorry, the database I referred to above, is NOT my own tree, but rather http://dukeofyork.tribalpages.com
