Still waiting for an answer or help from previous posting which is: I have 4 family sites on Tribalpages linked to my account.

My question/problem is: I wish to take one of those sites and give it to another person to own and be administrator. How do I do that????

This was several years ago now but when I did the changeover, I had to write directly to TP (not on the forum) and get them to do it. I don't believe there is any way you can do it yourself.

Alternatively - if it is a free account or you don't have more than a month or so left before renewal - the easiest way might be to save your gedcom, pics and stories - Close out your site and let your friend start fresh with the same name and userid. Not a good choice if you have over 1000 pictures attached but if you don't have too many - it might be less exacerbating than trying to reach TPSupport.

Thank you Marie. I have sent 2 messages to TP support and have received no response. Getting frustrated.

Hi Marie & Barbara,

I have never tried this as have had no need to do so. What happens if you go to edit > maintenance > change site title. There appears to be provision for changing name/email/password and webmasters display name.

Don't know if this will work for you. Can someone who has used this comment.

I did see that and tried to change administrator for that particular site to the new person and thought we were successful. However, it also changed to her name, email, and password on all the other family sites that I have. So that doesn't work for just one site.

I think when Tp first set up, they didn't expect people to have more than one tree and so the whole structure is around a single owner model.

That's why I suggested giving the new person your pictures, stories and gedcom, deleting the site completely. and letting them start a new site repeating the name.

Sorry for the delay. Here's how you do a transfer...

[1] First have the person create an account with tribalpages.

[2] Login to your account but visiting http://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/member. Once you have signed in, click the "Edit Profile" link. Click "Email" and enter the email address of this person. You will then be presented with a list of your sites that you can transfer
