Backing Up your Family Tree
Don't lose your data. Make a backup of your site and download it to your computer. You can then restore your site from your backup at any time. This feature is not avaliable to "Free Sites". Upgrade your site and take advantage of this and several other features that are currently not enabled on this site.
Backups are GEDCOM (a standard genealogy format) text files which you can import back into TribalPages or any of the several applications that accept GEDCOM files.
This is what I did and am doing now.

I wish I knew how to do a screen shot into this message, to let you see. Perhaps you might advise.
I doubled checked. On a a free site, I logged in as administrator. I went to Tools / Backup and I got exactly the same message as I previously posted.
It has always been this way for free sites (one of the biggest disadvantages of free sites). Whereas you can upload a gedcom as often as you like, you cannot backup or download a gedcom. Unless you upgrade.
(It is good to see you attending to so many issues today.)
I pointed out to you that you could not do this, as it was illegal for you to accept Members information, that they then had no control over, and that it was their right to be able to download their private information, as it was their property.
This is stil correct and they should and must be allowed to download their GEDCOM as they see fit from Tribal Pages.
I look forward to your answer from your Legal Department..
