Hi Lisa,

Appears the message I sent to you earlier has been deleted. In case you did not see my reply I have sent it again with a few changes otherwise it will probably be deleted again.

Hi Lisa,

As it appears unlikely that Tribal Pages Support are going to answer your message I will do my best. Click on the link as below and it will take you to a site that sets out some information. You will see "more" in the section on Company description. Click on that one and two times for more information.

For Company description it says the following -

Company Description: Over the past seven years, TribalPages.com has gained a loyal following and an outstanding reputation by providing free and inexpensive genealogy sites while protecting the site owner's content and privacy with flexible security options. Their easy to use online interface requires no external genealogy program and provides some of the best photo integration features on the web.

I agree mostly with this and Tribalpages has a lot of features that other sites don't have. However these are the positives and naturally it would not set out the negatives. It does not tell you that their support system has been criticized widely and there are sometimes glitches in their computer program. However overall I think it is a very good site with more positives than negatives.

Neither does it tell you that members (in particular, Les), through Forum, have provided far more help to other members than Tribal Pages Support themselves. Les and other members who have made Tribalpages their favourite family history site have provide their help at no cost because they like to help others and also don't wish to see the Company go backwards. The Company description makes the points about free sites and protecting information and yet now I could be excused for thinking that they are doing heir best to strangle free sites in view of the latest policy that does not allow the site owner to save his tree from a new free site.

I hope that this gives you more background information.

Hi Alan, yes many of the emails have been deleted. And I did read the stuff from the link you sent. That's when I notice who was the owner of the website. And why I was asking where this person was or if he sold the website to someone else. It seems like "Les" does all the helping here. You never know who the person is from TP Support, it just says there are 10 people from that department. They seem to answer if its Program related but not website related.

I also notice they really don't want to update any new options on the program, so I just don't request any.

It reminds me of when "Clooz" was going though this.

oh well
