This is my first post, and the first time I've wanted to work with a Gedcom file.

The Help pages state:

"You will need to sign up a new site for each line. Each GEDCOM that is uploaded wipes out the names that exist on your site."

Does this mean that as long as I start a new tree for the Gedcom file my existing trees are safe? Does line mean tree?

If you upload a GEDCOM to an existing TREE this will then overwrite this TREE, so this is what you have to beware of.
