Hi TribalPages,

Just now I came across the Announcements section which contains this sentence:

TribalPages Announcements of changes, enhancements or glitches that have been fixed

To nobody's great surprise the Announcements section is empty, not one single item - certainly no announcements of glitches that have been fixed.

Well, TP, now is your chance to fix a glitch, to announce it to the world and to take the empty look off that page.

As you are only too well aware I am not the only one with the problem that I am about to describe to you.

It has to do with deleting names from the invitation list.

The delete function on that page is very unpredictable, some names it will delete in one go but then there are others that it just stubbornly refuses to remove.

Why do I want to delete names from the invitation list?

To clean it up and to keep it manageable by getting rid of the names of people who no longer use the site(deceased)or those who wish to have an invitation at another email address,so the idea is to get rid of the old before sending a new invitation to the new email address, in that way you avoid doubling up and clogging up the invitation list with names and email addresses that are no longer in use i.e. useless and unwanted, just getting in the way!

At the moment I have a case of the latter on the invitation list - I want to remove the name John Scanlan(Identity: Email not on tree, last visited Nov. 2009)so that at his request I can send him a new invitation at his own new email address.

Please remove John's name from the list so that I can send him a new invitation. If you would solve this deleting glitch for me I would be ever so grateful and it would also be to your advantage as I would not need to contact you again in the future the next time I need to delete a name from the list.

TP, if I could handle this problem on my own I would but this is something that I need your help to solve.

Thank you.

Three days later and I haven't heard a word from TribalPages - no great surprise there then!

Whoever works in Customer Service at TribalPages(I am assuming that they have a Customer Service department, in TP's case, in name only)is getting paid for doing nothing.

I have never seen any evidence that they actually do anything and neither have lots of other people on this forum and all over the web.

But when it comes time for us to pay our subscriptions then they get off their asses and swing into action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Collecting subscriptions is the only bit of customer care that TribalPages seems to be interested in.

Rao, did nobody ever tell you that the best advertiesement

for your company(and free too!) is a happy customer?

It works like this, you give good service/customer service,

have a satisfied customer and they will spread the word of their good experience with your company. But, customers can just as easily spread the word of their bad experiences with a company.

Your lack of customer care is the one thing that I point out to people who ask me about the site and becoming members. TP, it is not a good thing to be known for!

You have got a great product, the website, but you ruin it all by your legendary lack of customer care.

If there is anybody on this forum who can help me solve the problem of deleting names from my invitation list I would be delighted to hear from you.

Thank you very much TP.

I have just checked and I see that you have removed the name that I requested from the invitation list.

If I was there in Florida I would give you a hug!!

One question - is this problem with the invitation list now solved for good or will I have to contact you in the future if there are other names which I need to delete?

Thanks again. You have brightened up my day!

Hi Orla,

The problem was that some of the email address were incorrect. They had spaces and parenthesis like

john smith <john@gmail.com>

This was probably due to cut-and-paste from an email.

This caused the system to behave in an undetermined way. We did fix this a few years back (to not allow bad email addresses) but these did get through before the fix.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation. I will keep that in mind re. the mail addresses and here at my end I will try to make sure that all mail addresses are listed without any unnecessary punctuation.

It will save us both from problems in the future.

Thanks again. This has been a very pleasant experience with TP customer care. Credit where credit is due!

Great read, agree with you 100 percent, there is no customer service, this is appalling and frustrating when you want answers to questions that are to hard for them to respond to.I have been having issues for years with them and have had no satisfaction in any of mt queries. You think you got problems, well wait till you pass the 66k mark, thats is when all hell breaks loose.Cant use the relationship link, connections link doesnt work, cant load photos, cant delete invitations, the list goes on.Someone has to get a phone number for these roosters so you can at least speak to someone, even if it is in India
