Les has already replied saying visitors cannot change or delete your tree. There is one other point worth mentioning. Persons you make FAMILY MEMBERS of your site can edit their IMMEDIATE FAMILY and add photo's of their immediate family. By immediate family it is that person and his wife and their children. Also that persons mother and father.

If you don't want anyone you invite to have the ability to make changes to their own immediate family just give them membership as a friend/guest. Under that option they can view the full tree including living persons but they cannot change anything.

Apart from my own family I now only use the friend/guest option when inviting someone to be a member because in the past I have had to fix up many mistakes that others made entering their own families.

I am not making you use the same one. Like Les I am just a Tribal Pages member like you. If you want something different to what normally applies you will have to take that up with Tribalpages management.

As you are concerned you can also set your site as a Private Site. Restricted: Entire Site.

Non-Members cannot see any information. All they see is a prompt to sign in. If they are not a member of your site, they have no access to your site. You don't have to offer membership to anyone you cannot trust.

The only other thing I will say on this subject is that, I myself, and thousands of other Tribalpages members have not had problems using the present system.

Hi Marilyn.

I was thinking about the access codes and realised I had forgotten to mention the following. You can set a special access codes for invited visotors. Go to "edit" > tutorial/help and scroll down until you come to the following -

The Visitor Password

The Visitor password is used to authenticate admission into your site. If you set the Visitor password, visitors to your site will be asked to enter it before they can browse your site. If you want to admit only those you know, please enter a password here.

Click Edit and log into your site

Select Tools from the menu.

Then click on "Privacy".

Enter a password in the Visitor Password section. Do not choose the same password as your login password, otherwise your visitors will be able to modify your site.

Then click the OK Button.

What's the difference. Call it a code or password. Maybe you can use numbers or combination of letters and numbers. I use a word. Try it out.
