iPhone 6S pictures that I upload to my computer (windows 10) is now automatically rotating portrait pictures for me. Where as before windows 10, I would have to rotate the pictures for correct orientation, and the pictures would upload correctly to TP. With windows 10, and the automatically rotating of pictures, the pictures will not upload to TP correctly for me. Portrait pictures are uploading as landscape. In an attempt to correct this, I rotated the picture on my computer prior to uploading to TP, which did not work. HELP!!! I am technically challenged, so please make any replies simple. Picture samples are in the photo album Family Reunion 2016. Thank you.

hi Maria, I do not know anything about iPhone 6S.

If as you say you adjusted the photographs to their correct orintation on your PC they have to show the correct way on Tribal Pages. Are you sure you are doing this correctly?

I cannot look at your Album as you have not put the Link to your Home Page. You will see a little House Icon at the top of my Forum Entry, you should do the same.

Regards

Les

Hi Les, Thanks for responding. Typo on my part: should be iPhone 5S.

I may not have explained myself good enough. I think the problem is with Windows 10, as I did not have this problem before Windows 10. I have uploaded the pictures to my computer, and now the portrait pictures are automatically rotated for me, where as before Windows 10, I had to "rotate" portrait pictures prior to uploading to TP or to my Shutterfly accounts in order to view them correctly.

This is the first time I have tried to upload pictures since being on Windows 10. The portrait picture that I have on TP (under "Family Reunion 2016" album)is displaying as landscape. It appears that Windows 10 is automatically correcting portrait pictures to the correct orientation, but TP is still reading it as landscape. I am not having this problem with Shutterfly - it appears to be accepting the pictures correctly.

Hope you can help. I think I did the link to my website correctly.

Thanks, Maria

Hi Maria, can now get to your site, but as it is password protected I cannot view.

This does not make a differance though, as what you are failing to see it is nothing to do with Windows 10 or iPhone 5S..

I take it that your Photographs are in an Album on your PC which you select and then upload to TP.

Now whatever orientation they are in the Album, if you upload that is what you get on TP.

Check your Album and see what the photograph is like. The photograph that you are talking about must be LANDSCAPE as this is what you are uploading to TP.

If I am correct alter the orientation in a Paint or Photo Program first, then save it back to your Album and then upload to TP.

Hope that this Helps, as TP can only show what you upload.

All the best

Les

Les,

Pictures are uploaded to an album/folder on my PC from my iPhone. Both landscape pictures and portrait pictures are displayed in the correct orientation.

Dimensions on the properties show as follows

Portrait: L-2448 x H-3264

Landscape: L-3264 x H-2448

So from that, I would assume the pictures should load onto TP correctly (as I stated earlier, all pictures do load onto Shutterfly correctly, so that is why I am confused as to why they won't load correctly on TP)

I did as you suggested anyway, I opened the one portrait picture onto Paint, but Paint does display it correctly. For the heck of it, I rotated the portrait picture to the left one turn and did a save, so it was now showing sideways. I uploaded it to TP, and low and behold, it showed up as portrait! I was very excited, figuring if that is what I need to do, I will do it. BUT I could not repeat it. I tried two different portrait pictures, and no matter what I do using Paint to save it, they still load up as landscape. As I stated, both types of pictures do display correctly on my PC's folder; loading them into Paint - they still display correctly. But no matter how I try to load the Portrait pictures onto TP, they still show as landscape, EXCEPT for the first one which I managed to somehow load correctly onto TP by saving it sideways on Paint.

I am frustrated and confused. I'm hoping my explanation above will help you somehow in figuring out what I may be doing wrong. And I do appreciate the time you are giving me.

Thank you,

Maria

Hi Maria.

In your PC Album that yu save your photographs, they should appear in TP exactly the same when you upload.

Can you e-mail them to me as a direct copy from your PC Album. Do not alter them. you will find my e-mail address on the LINK below.

You will see a box with this in it

If you need help or information

Seems like Tribal needs to update their site, maybe more user friendly to include editing and rotating? {not expecting this to happen any time soon}. I really do like this site yet there are issues they need to address.
