Hi, for some time now, each time I try to access my Tribal Pages website using the url

www.matthewsbeethom.tribalpages.com

the page reverts to an Angelfire screen with the message ...

"404 error! We couldn't find the page you requested. Please check the URL and try again"

The URL to my Tribal Pages has not changed and none of my other Tribal Pages websites result in this error, so please can you tell me why this is happening and how it can be resolved? Thank you.

Hi Carol, as you can see by clicking on yout HOUSE ICON, I get your TREE. Also by using the LINK that you put on your Forum entry I got the same. Not the Angel fire.

Try clearing your CACHE as that may be the trouble

Hi Les, thank you for your reply but I can see nothing!! Please forgive my ignorance, but how do I clear my cache??

I can see no difference when I click on the link, I still only get the Angelfire page and I see no "house icon" to which you refer.

Please could you give me some instruction to help me get my page back to how it used to be in order that I can access it?

Grateful thanks

Carol

PS. Sorry Les, if you are referring to my browsing history, I do this regularly and it makes no difference. I have just done it now and the problem remains the same.

I am guessing the "house icon" to which you refer is the little icon at the top of this thread - I have clicked that and get the Angelfire error message. I also still get the same Angelfire error message when I try to access via the link.

This has been the case for several months now and yet, none of my other tribal pages websites are affected.

It is very frustrating as I am paying for a site which I am unable to gain access to for some unknown reason.

Any additional technical help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Carol

Hi Carol,

This could be happening because you have music embedded from Angelfire in your homepage. We cannot predict how embedded content from external websites would behave. Would you like us to remove Angelfire from your homepage?

Yes Please Les, the music doesn't play any more anyway. Please do whatever is necessary ... nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Thank you for your input. Yes, the problem is resolved and the embedded music has been removed. I can now open once again using Chrome. Thank you very much indeed.

Tribalpages Support asked if you have music embeded with Angelfire. A good question.

Some years ago before I had Google Chrome I used Angelfire to add some music to photo's and stories. All still works fine unless I use Google Chrome as a search engine. I then get the same as you. Cannot view that page. I have therefore checked your homepage and find that the same happens to your site when I am using GOOGLE CHROME.

When I check your site using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox I have no problem viewing your home page. Therefore if you use Google Chrome I suggest that you try another search engine or do as Tribalpages Support suggest and get them to remove what is embeded with Angelfire.

I now remove anything I originally used with Angelfire.

Hi Alan, thank you for your input. Yes this seems to be a possibility as I do use Chrome and I have now asked Les to remove the Angelfire connections. The music hasn't played for a long time now anyway, so this may well be the solution. I will also try opening the site using IE, so see if that makes a difference. Thank you very much indeed for your interest, it is appreciated. regards Carol

Hi Carol,

Les is just a member like me. You need to ask Tribalpages Support to remove the Angelfire music. Also easy enough to do it yourself "Edit" > "write introduction" and then delete the music html text.

Alan, thank you. Yes, I can see it clearly now and yes, it opens fine in IE. I have just gone to remove the music and can now open with chrome once again.

Thankyou both very much for your help, I think I now have a resolved issue.

Excellent assistance from those in the know - thank you both very much indeed.

Regards Carol.
