I am assisting a friend with her family tree. Her father was mentioned in despatches during WW1 and I would like to find out more about this. The soldier's name was Roderick MacDonald born 16 Apr 1891 in Scotland. He was in the Army Service Corps and I believe his regimental number may have been M/205402. Unfortunately his war medals were stolen in a house break in, but I believe he had the British War Medal and also the Victory Medal with Oak Leaf. The family think he was in Gallipoli and also Egypt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to pay a small subscription if you want the details etc.

But first play around with the site and get use to it.

Best regards and good luck in your search
